Spring Concert 2012

Music for Inner Peace
A reflective and diverse concert for the Easter season featuring a range of shorter choral pieces inspired by the liturgy and worship of the Christian Church.
The performance will feature contrasting Magnificats - Pergolesi (Durante) and Kirkland; two Crucifixes by Lotti; several highly contrasting settings of the Ave Verum by Byrd, Mozart and Elgar; and well known choral music from Handel (excerpts from Messiah) and by Bach.

An Elizabethan Seranade
A Special Celebration to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (19520-2012) with music from the reigns of both Queen Elizabeth 1 and Queen Elizabeth II
Expect to hear works by Tallis. Byrd and Gibbons in the first half, and popular choral music from the last 60 years from Britten to the Beatles and beyond!
All performances start at 7.30 pm unless stated otherwise.
